Oh God this. All this new info and innovation Gamefreak has put into these games, and no sign of him since. Has Cena finally given up on his "1.5-quel" arguement ?

It's exclusive to Nintendo (and by extension, Game Freak.)

Sony and Microsoft sold high-powered consoles at losses for years, so that they could be affordable for their users. Now, that investment has paid off: Microsoft's entertainment division made $600M+ in profits last year.

Nintendo on the other hand is all about money money money and milking their loyal fanbase out of every penny and yen. Now they're losing hundreds of millions a year and their stock price is at 1999 levels.
