Spikes equally damages everything not immune to it, plus about a third of all Pokémon are immune to it, so that's fine. SR on the other hand, unfairly punishes a select few Pokémon (not just types) that could be usable otherwise, hence reducing the game to a duel between another select few Pokémon that resist or counter it.
It can be left as it is now, but for the sake of fairness, make it expire after 5 turns like Trick Room - just think how stupid it would be if TR were permanent... --- "Teamwork is essential, it gives them other people to shoot at." |
