Pokemon sold more copies than call of duty games

That's like saying, "Toyota sold more Camrys than Chevy sold Corvettes." Implying a Camry is a better automobile.

That's a poor analogy. Pokemon and CoD have a much less significant price gap and have the same purpose(entertainment).

No it is not Smog. Both a Camry and Corvette serve similar purpose as well. Getting from point A to B. A mid trim Camry goes for $23,999, while a base Corvette goes for $49,600.

I'm sorry if you want to compare a $34.99 car to a $59.99 car. So actually, by comparing a Camry to a Corvette, the Corvette costs roughly 2X (twice) as much, whereas CoD costs LESS than 2X as much as pokemon.

A very good analogy I made up on the spot, I gotta admit, a Corvette costs a lot less than I thought they would. I guess a better analogy would be a Toyota 2 door sports car to a Chevrolet 2 door sports car, so let's take the $65,000 Lexus ISF (Lexus=Toyota) and compare it to the $54,000 ZL1 Camaro. The Chevy outshines the Lexus in every way imaginable, and even super cars costing twice as much. Or, we can discuss a $110k ZR1 Corvette, and how it smokes a $300k Lexus LFA.

Yeah, that's what I thought, Smogoonie.

Yes, the literal purpose of a car is to get from A to B. But people buy cars for more than that. Why would anyone buy a Ferrari then? Why doesn't everyone get a Toyota or Honda, they cost much much less.

The reason a Corvette costs much less than you'd expect is because it's made out of plastic and has a prehistoric gearbox. And a Chevy does not outshine a Lexus in "every way". The only advantage it has is HP. The Lexus has much much more luxuries and can actually corner(unlike the Vette haha).

Sorry that I had things to do. I'm not on GameFAQS 24/7.

IIRC, at least aroung the time of HG/SS Pokemon was the second best selling video game franchise ever. Mario was first. A quick wiki search backs this up (I'll take a grain of salt with that), and if you want to talk about how there are more versions of Pokemon games than CoD games, you also have to factor in that CoD is on multiple platforms and is still a third of Pokemon sales.

Corvette can't handle? LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!! Holy **** I should end this conversation now, but I won't. You don't know **** about cars. Plastic weighs less than steel. And Carbon Fiber weighs less than plastic. That's what makes so many exotic super cars so expensive. Still, the fiberglass, prehistoric, old technology Corvette has better lap times than many exotics with the latest and greatest technology, advanced all-wheel-drive systems... yet a old bones jones Corvette will smoke them around any course. Including light nimble Porsche's on a small track with tons of curves.

I lied about the LFA though, as it was designed as a track car, as it has extremely stiff suspension, and can't get over a speed bump, it actually costs $375k

Being on multiple consoles means nothing because for the most part people will only buy it ONCE. It's the same exact game so they'll only get it for the console that they have. In Pokemon on the other hand, a lot of the times someone will buy the opposite version so that they can see what's diffrent.

Call Of Duty 1
Call Of Duty 2
Call Of Duty 3
Call Of Duty 4 MW
Call Of Duty World At War
MW 2
Black Ops
MW3

8 titles competing against the too many to count pokemon games out there. Besides keep in mind COD's first game came out in 2003. Pokemon's on the other hand has been out since 1996.

In conclusion, yeah overall Pokemon has sold more games than COD but it's had 7 more years to do it. Also the majority of sales for Pokemon come from Japan like the majority of sales for COD come from America.

Keep in mind I'm not a huge fan of COD but fair is fair.
