There's a big difference between Golurk and Spiritomb.
When you figure that out, Golurk makes as much sense as any other pokemon.

Although that would make it a better foil to Ho-oh, Lugia isn't a water pokemon, and it's correlation with the water is just because it hid the water to hide from people (and learned some water controlling powers in the process). It's definitely not a dragon.

inb4 gyara and zard.

Lugia's not Water because it didn't always live in water.

It used to live in Ecruteak with Ho-oh, before its tower burned down.

I know where you're going when you change all of the lava and magma Pokemon to Rock-types, but in elemental RPGs, lava and magma has always been associated with both fire and earth. Fire is not just flames, it's usually encompasses high temperatures in general, which lava and magma display in spades.

So what happens when there is boiling water, or electricity? Are those just thrown in with fire? Why not just make a high temperature element?
