Could a Pokemon vs. Digimon Crossover ever work?

The power disparity is actually a good point...Black WarGreyMon wiped out forty-something Mammothmon at one point, if I recall correctly. Substitute them for Mamoswine (like in the Giratina movie), and that should illustrate the problem.

I liked that scene better when there was no choir.

I think there's too much power disparity within both series(though especially so Digimon) themselves to really compare either objectively.

This. Where earlier seasons relied mostly on the V-Pet's sort of "power is determined by evolutionary stage" outlook, the later seasons (with Xros Wars especially) seemed to be more about how experienced a Digimon might be (which is more akin to the Story games where you could train, devolve, re-evolve over and over again until a Koromon could solo anything).

No, Digimon boobs are too big:

They would have to increase Pokemon boobs to match.

Ugh, they really should've made her Minervamon, at least then she'd probably wouldn't have been an outlet for the animators' sexual fantasies...

As for the power disparity, they could just do what SSB did and weaken the Digimon cast a bit to even the playing field.

I always found the mechanism for digi-evolution to be a little bit ludicrous and the monsters a bit obscene after they get past the stage above Champion mode (with the Crests and all that, or the Armor Digivolved states). Imperialdramon was just silly, and its Fire Mode was even worse. The only cool DNA digivolution was the one with Stingmon/Veemon, the other two were fairly lame. Even the Armor ones were a bit hit and miss; I though the Marine-mon (the submarine thing with Cody's Digimon) was a bit weird, although Hawkmon's two were pretty good.

They're packets of data, they'll usually change how they want to. Now, pokemon on the other hand...

It COULD work, but there would have to be concessions on both sides...mostly the Digimon side.

1. The creators of such a game would have to decide whether to use an existing battle system with one side tweaked to fit it (Pokemon battle system or the many Digimon battle systems).
2. An element system of some kind would have to be agreed on, and I honestly can't see Namco-Bandai being keen to use the Pokemon system over their own "Nightmare Soldiers", "Machine Empire" and that jazz.
3. Due to the obvious, yet immense power of most Mega-level Digimon (and even some Ultimate/Perfect level Digimon), Mega-level Digimon would have to be relegated to share the same role as the legendary Pokemon- hard to find, one-of-a-kind creatures that have high stats.
4. Speaking of stats, in the event that the Pokemon stat system were used, it would have to be decided what BST each level of Digimon would be around (ex In-training Digimon having a 250 BST, rising 110 for each average BST level increase).
5. The writers would have to agree on a neutral story.

...oh, and if you're talking about an ANIME Pokemon-Digimon crossover...I can't really see that happening, since if Pokemon crossovered with a more character-driven franchise, it would kind of invite questions about the Pokemon writer's writing style that they don't want to be asked.
