The street date has been lifted at Walmart.

Let's see proof... including the walmart receipt. There's no doubt somewhere broke street date... I just doubt walmart was that place.

I already bought it from Target, as have others, but they put the street date into their computers after.

Wal-Mart seems to have taken down their electronic streetdate, the issue is getting them to open up "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 10/7/12". Although if you get lucky with employees you could probably do it.

If it's not supposed to be sold, then Walmart's system will prompt as such.

BTW- pics will be here shortly.

That. I went to Target earlier to pick up White 2 (Black 2 is on preorder at Best Buy.) Got ****blocked by the cash register. I'll just wait until Sunday.

Like all good things, no system is perfect. Some do slip through the cracks. Which is why I keep trying to tell people to check the damn release books we get to make sure and not rely on what the registers say.

There actually have been times where the opposite happened. Movies and games that were out on the proper dates, but the system said it was early. That was fun to override.

I would never buy game early unless i knew the person behind the counter and i knew they couldnt get into trouble.

buying a game early could very well mean the person behind the counter can lose their job. and I personally wouldnt want to be the person to do that. I would proably warn the emplyee that they shouldnt be selling it. I personally would take the minor inconvenience of being forced to play the game later then see someone else loseing their job. its not like everyone knows every last release date in the gaming industry.

maybe thats just me but I cant say i would be to thrilled with my self if i got a game early and some other guy lost his freaking job.

FACT: nobody gets fired if a product is rung up correctly. If it was fudged into the system like 123456789 then ENTER, then there are grounds for a strike, or at least a verbal warning.

Which doesn't even address the regulations that have been discuss in the topic. Weather it is illegal or not, there are rules in place to disipline employees breaking rules like this. I'm not doing it and I don't want anyone else to do it if they care about keeping thier job.
