It's kind of sad that Mew and Mewtwo never seemed to reconcile their relationship as mother and child in any real way over time. The first movie basically just pitted Mew against all clones, and Mewtwo was the opposite, and had them in a deathmatch until Ash got "stoned." After all was said and done, Mew never showed any true realization that, despite the circumstances that led to it, Mewtwo is her son (and he accepting that she gave him life). Pretty irrelevant after the 12 odd years since then, but it's a thought that kicked back in recently and I felt voicing.
Maybe I missed something in some of the other films (I only ever saw the first one). If I did, let me know. --- "All your sweetrolls are belong to me." Video play throughs at - http://www.youtube.com/user/DreadArkive
Mewtwo isn't the child it's a wannabe Mew hence the name Mewtwo that didn't turn out to be a Ditto. --- Stars, have their own beginnings, but their own power results in their destruction. 3DSXL FC: 4640-0379-8455 Black 2 FC: 3268-3178-7258
Furthermore, since Mewtwo seems to be male, and Mewtwo was cloned from Mew, that would make Mew male too. Furthermore, Mew is referred to as a male in PokePark Wii. --- The mac daddy of the Pokemon Black 2 board.

I believe it was stated somewhere in the games that Mewtwo wasn't exactly a clone, it was the embryo of a pregnant Mew that was genetically altered --- R - Grunt, knight, Dark-type master Black FC: 4127 2517 7042

Mewtwo is already genetically different enough from Mew that it's not much of a stretch that one could be male and the other female, but they're both genderless, so it's irrelevant. --- Hinako danced crazy
