Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality

Blue - 6/10 (Boring and goes through no real development, in the games at least. Ultimately just amounts to being a jerk but then you beat him up and he decides to stop being a jerk I guess? All his development was off-screen.)

Silver - 8/10 (Blue done right. Goes through the jerk to not a jerk development except we actually see the development. It would be extremely cool if we saw him again in a future game.)

Brenden/May - 2/10 (Hardly even rivals, just boring and who even cares let's be honest here. Also they gave up halfway through the game, so.)

Wally - 7/10 (Really cool kid! I love how he tries really hard even though he's physically and mentally not really all that ready for this. He didn't really develop much, though, so there's that. He would have been nice to face as the Champion in Emerald or something.)

Barry - 9/10 (Easily the best rival when it comes to being a friendly rival. He's peppy and quirky and completely unique in the series, and his growth as a character was really cool, too.)

Cheren - 7/10 (An interesting foil to Bianca, but that's about it. He was cool to fight with, but his development in BW was eh. He got better in BW2 and was a cool partner there.)

Bianca - 9/10 (Easily the best rival in the series. Had a really interesting and cool story ark and developed really well. It was really interesting having a rival that just wasn't all that good at Pokemon, ultimately. I only wish she had overcame her weaknesses and became Champion in BW2 instead of just deciding to be Juniper's assistant.)

Hugh - 6/10 (He has a cool theme, but that's about it. His motivation is cool I guess but besides that... well, he's spunky but boring as a rival.)

Hugh is probably the best one to fight as well as having a good character, Silver probably has the best development and Blue I think works best as a rival.
