Is pokemon the most nostalgic game ever made?

Zelda outclasses it in that respect. Innovation + nostalgia = Zelda games. Pokemon does it pretty well, but lacks slightly in nostalgia and could use some improvement in innovation (though it's there).

I'd say something like Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, or FFVI would be considered the most "nostalgic" game ever made by most people. There was just something about that time frame that seemed to create those types of games.

To go into a little more depth, the question is completely useless. You can't say someone's wrong here unless they mention a game that only just came out (well, unless the person speaking is a time traveler. ;)

Altered Beast is a massively nostalgic game.

Megaman Zero. I remember playing when I was 6 or so.

I know it might seem odd that I'm defending nostalgia, with my sig and all, but nostalgia has nothing at all to do with how bad something is. It's just something that brings back memories of your younger days. Thus, just about anything can be nostalgic to the right person.

It's when you let your nostalgia get the best of you that the problems arise. Being nostalgic for something doesn't make it bad, but it might blind you to something better.

You are right. Consider my NO post invalid.

For me I can't say Pokemon is because I was in eighth grade when Red/Blue came out. But Super Mario will always bring me back.

Half-Minute Hero. And it doesn't even need to be repetitive like Pokémon to be nostalgic.

Yeah, it's called quality content. If you've played them, really played them, and taken into account the limitations of the system they were made for, you'd realize just how great those games really were.
