Why not Fighting/Water or Fighting/Grass?

Except those already exist.
Poliwrath and Keldeo for fighting/water and virizion for fighting/grass

and breloom :)

That would make sense as a reason against Fighting/Water or Fighting/Grass, if GameFreak hadn't already pooped on it by making Emboar ._.

Fire/Fighting
Water/Rock
Grass/Flying

So every starter can hit the other two super-effectively!

This idea of each hitting each other super effectively was already done by the sinnoh starters. (Empoleon can hit Torterra with Ice Beam, the others are self-explanatory).

And ENOUGH with the Fire/Fighting pokemon. They're getting stale fast.

Not with STAB, which was what I meant. Johto starters could hit each other super-effectively, too. Meganium has Earthquake, Typhlosion has Thunderpunch, and Feraligatr had Ice Punch.

And no. Fire/Fighting is awesome.

How about we make a completely new type, and get rid of Fire and Fighting. We can call it: Fighire.

How about instead of that, we make Fighire the name of the next fire starter? It can be based on a fig.

Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances.

Having a move that can hit the type is not the same as being a type that is SE against it.

But we need to make them dual types. Hmm, how about fighting/fire?

Not workable. Rock resists normal during the first scuffle, making that starter win all early fights.

So no. Even the Dark>Psychic>Fighting version is more usable.

Yeah, but Empoleon gets shafted in a way because it needs the TM to pull this off.

If they make another Fire/Fighting starter, i'm going to burn Game Freak HQ.

I do agree with this, however. Emboar should have totally been fire/ground.

It learned Drill Peck/Peck by Lv Up tough. Granted, it's not Ice Beam-awesome, but it's there.
