Join Avenue Cafe question

So I have a Charizard at level 92 with the nature, ability and moves I want, and I'm doing the Elite Four over and over to get her up to 100!

Just a question - I've EV trained her already, so would there be any negative impact to just buying the Wonder Dinner in the cafe in Join Avenue (which raises your Pokemon's level by 8) and getting her to level 100 that way? Or would it be preferable to just keep going through the Elite Four?

I know one of the previous generations had negative effects for using Rare Candies, but I *think* that's gone now? The money is no issue after going through the Elite 4 so often!

So could I do this as a quick and easy way to finish off leveling to 100 or are there any negative consequences in terms of stats etc?

If you're level 92 you've probably already maxed out the EV's, so there's no negative to paying at the Cafe.

If you're not familiar with EV's, they're bonus stats you get for fighting a lot of battles, but they max out eventually. The reason the Rare Candy Pokemon were weak back in Red/Blue is because the people who did that didn't fight ANY battles with them and never got any EVs.

The only "negative effect" of using Rare Candies was that they didn't give you EVs, so if you used them to get to Lv 100, you were screwed. Now that you can get EVs at Lv 100, that doesn't matter anymore.

So yeah, go ahead and use the Café, EV trained or not. You'll be fine.

Buy that dinner.

- EVs are complete, which makes training just tedious, not helpful
- Rare Candies never had negative effects. You just skip fights that give your poke EVs, that's all there is to 'negative effects'

Yeah it's the difference between being able to EV train at level 100 now and not being able to before that was in my head, but that doesn't apply!
