No main pokemon game has ever disappointed me, but I did miss some features from earlier gens.

Somewhat. Gen V has been slightly disappointing in that it's the smallest generation yet. It came at an awkward time where consoles were shifting, and so it doesn't have any good side games in it. --- Samudaya Syroid Singular Domination

Deny. While It cannot be argued that BW did disappoint in some aspects, the most disappointing of those, that is, the lack of any truly significant shake ups to the metagame, could not be addressed by BW2, and I enjoyed both, and even though I feel BW2 is better gameplay wise, I certainly wouldn't say BW was a disappointment until these games came along.

Black/White were pretty solid. The title applies much more to gen 4; it went from a trainwreck to possibly my favorite gen. --- Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality

Confirm The only thing huge Black and White have going for them over the prequel is story (aside from little things like powerful Pokemon early on and Day Care/Eeveelution places being available before post game).
Of course, one thing that bugs me is that you pretty much have to play the prequels inside out before you can truly understand the story of the sequels (mainly due to Memory Link). While some of the things made sense (obtaining the special Prop Case, for example), others didn't (Skyla and Elesa joking around in Mistraton). I mean, it was a cool addition, but I felt that some of it could've just been put in as regular flashbacks. --- You know you read too much when you dream about flying books.

I love how much faster the battle system is. And the scaled exp, the idea of getting a free Lucky Egg...immediate EV application...
That's putting aside the awesome music and Pokemon that BW introduced.
Sure, BW2 made it even better, but BW was already at the top (next to Emerald) in my opinion. --- For those players who don't speak Australian, we have provided an English translation of the previous scene. Do you want to replay the scene?
