yes.

first time and it was hell. got lost and kept wondering around getting my team's HP lower and lower thanks to Onix, Slowpoke and Geodude. had Charmeleon. when i finally got out, it was the biggest sigh of relief ever! then came Lavender town music. totally worth it! love this town.

played FR and it was a breeze and fought all the trainers in the dark.

In RBY, no. In LG and FR, Every single time. I don't even know where flash is...

When I fist played LG I went through it, the most frustrating thing ever. Easy way to do it is to follow the wall but it is a b****.

You get it from a scientist for catching like 10 Different Pokemon. I didn't know that my first play through.

Didn't find Flash first time through as a kid. Had no choice. My Blastoise solo'd **** for days at that point though, so I got out eventually.

More times than I have with Flash.

Then again, I have the entire layout practically memorized, and since you can see the stairs and stuff (at least in Gen I you can,) it's really not hard at all.

I remember my first play through on Red, I went got got Flash, hated that I had to teach one of my awesome pokes that dumb move. Now I always go through without it. Im pretty sure I can do it just be memory. Walking until you hit a wall and change direction.

The only gen I ever needed to use flash for was Gen 3's Victory Road...
