I don't remember Gen 1 having breeding, unless you're talking about Fire Red/ Leaf Green.

I recall in Gen2 Crystal, my newly hatched Dratini knew 4 moves from Dragonite. Then I learned the wonders of the net and realized those were egg moves.

Every official pokedex has the egg moves listed since at least gen 3. It's not like game freak tries to hide them.
