Due to society's inability to separate religion and the way you feel about how another person lives, abortion is looked down upon. Because people believe that a bearded giant who lives in the sky (although, if mythology serves us right, he's actually a giant that feasts on humans and has a golden goose) deems keeping the human race at a respectable, livable number (according to those in charge of organized religion) to be a bad thing. "THOU SHALL NOT KILL." "But what if the woman dies in labour?" "THEN GOD KILLED HER AND IT WAS JUSTIFIED."
