Wait...so does completing the Unova dex mean CATCHING or SEEING?

#1RiokenPosted 12/8/2012 3:16:05 PM
Like if I'm trying to get that Wildlife Reserve via completing the National Dex do i have to catch ALL 200-something Unova Pokes or do I just have to see them/have them in the dex?

Any tips on how to get this completed also? I've seen about 260 of the Pokes already.

You have to SEE them. If you CATCH them you get that charm item that helps with breeding. You just basically have to go around Unova and battle people and you should be fine.

How much of the Unova dex can I complete by just playing the game itself (without trading I mean).

You can see them all with the exception of...

~The Starter Pokemon, that you did not pick and Hugh does not own
~Vullaby/Rufflet, depending on your version
~Buneary/Skitty, depending on your version, but you can get them in the DW

Can't you not see the opposite version legendary (Zekrom in W2 and Reshiram in B2)?

You can see all the pokemon in the Unova dex but, in order to get the permit, you have to CATCH all the pokemon in the Unova dex. I found that out the hard way when I showed Professor Juniper my pokedex in Nuuvema Town. I had 299 seen but she wouldn't give me the permit for Nature Preserve until I had caught all the Unova pokemon which included Tepig (neither Hugh nor I had one, sadly enough).

When will there be an official Cresselia event?
When will GF official release Meloetta in the US?

Err, as mentioned above, no you cannot see them all without trading, and no, you don't need to catch them all, that's for the Shiny Charm.
