Why does electricity hurt rock now?

Why is it that my Roggenrola takes normal damage from normal attacks and electricity. When did they change this?

Rock was never immune to Electric

Nothing was changed, Electric attacks always hurt Rock types. Ground types are the ones immune to electricity.

They didn't. Quite a few people don't realize that the reason why Pokemon like Geodude and Onyx don't take damage from Electric attacks is due to their Ground typing not the Rock part.

No, I remember Pikachu being completely useless against Brock's Geodude and Onyx in Red and Blue.

Okay, well it's been a while, and I don't remember Geodude and Onyx being Rock/Ground. I thought they were both just Rock types.

It's been over a decade so my memory of it may be wrong.
