-I got a chimchar from the walmart special thing
-I don't want 2 fire/fighting types on my team, so I didn't choose tepig (tepig is the best in my opinion though)
-I am not a fan of grass types in general (no snivy)
-My first starter was a water type. I really enjoyed it.
So Oshawott works really well, Tepig may be your best bet though.
