Day 37 and today's ability is Frisk. Not much to say about this ability.

Frisk: "Allows the Pokémon to see the opponent's held item upon entering battle. If the foe is holding an item, a message telling which item the Pokémon is holding will be shown right after the Pokémon with Frisk Ability enters the battle. If the foe isn't holding an item, no message will appear.

In a Double Battle, an unidentified opponent is randomly chosen and their held item revealed."

Quite useful it allows you to know roughly what set an opponent is using because of the item. The only problem is the pokemon could benefit from another Ability better, and ones which get frisk are quite frail anyways.

Is this strictly a rating based on usefulness in competitive battles? Because my "adventuring team" in Black is lead by a Gothitelle who frisks wild Pokémon and steals their items with Thief. That's.. about it.

It can really help in doubles battles (unless you fight the same guy over and over which kind of ruins the fun of surprise in this game). Not terrible, but not great either.

I'm not impressed with Frisk.
It's kinda nice to know what item your opponent is holding, but it usually doesn't matter and all the Pokemon with Frisk can get a better ability.

Frisk is more useful in wild Pokemon battles when you're searching for a rare item it has a chance of holding. Like Thick Club on Cubone/Marowak
