Day 39 and today's ability is Guts. Quite the useful ability, I say.

Guts: "Raises the Attack stat by 50% while affected by the burn, paralysis, poison, or sleep status ailments. The Attack drop from burn does not occur."

Pretty good, but it limits the item you're going to use to a Burn Orb unless you have a teammate do something to you.

I give it an 8.

Fantastic ability. Makes Ursaring's Facade the best nuke in the game (STAB 140 BP move with no negative effects off of a 1.5 boosted Base 135 Attack)

Too bad it means the user is put on a timer, and it's yet another slap in the face for poor Flareon.

7. Its really good, but it requires some commitment... for a lot of things, its still worth losing their hold item to utilize it, but not for everything... and if you don't give up the hold item, it will end up being a dead ability in a lot battles... all of this isn't considering alternate abilities on a Pokemon either.

A very good ability. By self-inflicting a status effect, it prevents other more damaging status effects from working, and also gives an incredibly reliable attack boost. The downside is you have to wait a turn to use it, but this isn't so bad. Just switch in to something that poke threatens, and then when they switch to a counter you'll get the status effect.

5/10. Far too many people use this little trick with Conkeldurr and Ursaring with a Flame Orb. It's annoying and I see people that do use it as unoriginal

I use poison orb with my flareon with guts. It's the only way I found to make flareon useful.
