When are stats calculated for intractable legendaries?

Want to get a good IV and nature Groudon in Ruby currently. Want to do the same for Rayquaza and the Regis. Just want to double check that they are calculated before each battle.

Upon encounter, IIRC.

If I lose to him and end up coming back, are they calculated again?

Catch > Soft Reset is the easiest way to do it. For most pokemon (like the roamers), the stats were set on the first encounter. But I don't know for sure. In fact, I doubt anyone really does. The only way to test it would be to lose the first fight, save before you fight him a second time later, and catch him multiple times to see if he has the same IVs. By then, it would already be too late though.

Well, I'm able to confirm that if you do lose his stats and nature will be randomized next time you fight him.

May I ask how? Without catching him, there's no way to tell his nature and IVs for sure, and without resetting, there's no way to catch him again for a comparison.

SHUT YOUR TRAP!!!

For stationary and Mystery Gift Pokemon Status and Nature are set at the moment you press "A" to get them/start the battle.

This is common knowledge since Gen III.

Roamers status and nature are set at the moment they flee.

Lost, saved before doing it again. Caught and reset, then caught and reset agian and got different stats and nature.

I'm curious what you're telling me to stop saying. If you read my posts carefully, I state pretty much just what you said, although I don't mention Mystery Gifts. I was focusing on whether or not Nature is set (permanently) on a stationary legendary if you interact with it multiple times without reloading, as I have never heard of any instances of this. All experience I have with them involves a catch.
