i guess what im trying to ask is does anyone from another country have a shiny ditto i could trade for
FuneralCakePosted 1/31/2013 6:32:45 PM
If you're tying to get a shiny foreign Ditto because you think it'll help with hatching shiny eggs, it doesn't work that way.

If you just want one for whatever other reason, ask on the trade board.

sorry to ask but why wouldnt it work?

Because shiny parents do not increase the chances of hatching shinies. You would just need a foreign Ditto to improve your chances. It doesn't matter if the Ditto is shiny or not.

terrible wording on Funeralcake's side.

A shiny Ditto doesn't help to get shiny Pokémon from the daycare.

A Ditto from a different language game (not just a different country) is what activates the Masuda Method

Also, the best chances of getting a shiny from an egg even with the foreign Ditto are still worse than 1 in 1000.

A batch of eggs takes 5 minutes to hatch (If you're lucky) and then extra time to release the non shinies and go back to the Daycare man.

Ask yourself if this is really something you want to do. People get the idea that they can shiny farm, but it's way more brutal than it seems in your imagination. :P
