Grass, Poison and Ice types really aren't that good :/

I'm trying to create a team for each type for the PWT but I'm out of ideas...

For Ice you probably want Walrein to neutralize Fire and Froslass to neutralize Fighting.

For Poison you want one of the Nido's because their Ground attacks will mess up Steel. (And there are plenty of Dark options for dealing with Psychic)

For Grass, Venasaur (or any part Poison types) will protect you from Poison and Bug. Ludicolo or Torterra can take fire. Cradilily or Ferathorn can take Flying.

Sceptile is a wonderful Grass choice for flat out attacking.

Fast, hits hard, useable movepool, etc.

Tad frail though, so switch it in wisely.

You could just run coverage like smart people instead of type spreading.

Huh? Sorry if I misunderstood you, but I'm creating a Grass team for the Grass tournament, Poison team for the Poison tournament and Ice team for the Ice tournament.

So far I have for Grass...

Abomasnow (Snow Warning + Blizzard with Choice Scarf)
Ferrothorn (Grass and Poison can pretty much not touch it)
Roserade (Part Poison to be super effective on Grass)

Oh I didn't know about the type-specific tournaments. I thought you was just wanting a type-team like the old Champions used (grass/fire/water/normal/electric/dragon)or so. I apologize then.

Is it a tourney where everyone uses the same type, or is it a tourney where everyone is a assigned a different type?

If the former, then simply make an anti-team. So if it is Ice-vs-Ice, then pack your team full of Fighting/Rock/Steel/Fire moves, and try and work out what common pogeys will come about and aim to counter them. Aim to put as many EV's/natures into speed, so you don't get beaten by speed ties.

I'm assuming the pwt type tourneys. Beat a bunch of those but never got around to finishing them yet.

I'm calling you an elitist, but I'm just gonna go ahead and leave a snooty remark as I go. I am wutz good

It's for the PWT. It's the type expert tournaments, where all your pokemon have to be of a certain typing. I just had trouble with these three tyings to come up with 6 Pokemon that I will also kind of have fun using, as well as them being useful. For Poison I now have...

Gengar (Poison can't touch it)
Nidoking (Ground is super effective)
Drapion (Can learn Earthquake, and Crunch for Gengar)

Poison:

Gengar (Poison can't touch it)
Nidoking (Ground is super effective)
Drapion (Can learn Earthquake, and Crunch for Gengar)
______________________________________

Toxicroak (Deadly when used right.)
Vensaur (It makes for a very annoying Sub-Seeder.)
Scolipede (If you can get a Swords Dance up, it can hit pretty hard.)

Grass:

Abomasnow (Snow Warning + Blizzard with Choice Scarf)
Ferrothorn (Grass and Poison can pretty much not touch it)
Roserade (Part Poison to be super effective on Grass)
________________________________________

Breloom (Amazing sweeper. Spore has 100% accuracy.)
Torterra (Makes a great Tank.)
Sceptile (Great speed. Nice Sp. Attack. Can leave big dents in Pokemon that don't resist it.)

Those are a couple suggestions.
