Question to those that played Pokemon XD: Poke Spot question

#1RebellianPosted 2/8/2013 11:59:57 AM
The XD board Is just about dead, so I'm asking here Instead.

Thanks to a certain someone playing Colosseum on Youtube, It got me In the mood to replay XD for the first time In about 6 years. I want to catch an Aaron from one of the Poke Spots, but I was wondering; Can you save and reset the game until the pokemon you want shows up or Is the pokemon set the moment that radar thing goes off?

I'm not that far Into the game to figure this out myself as only just got to Agate Village.

I don't think its set when it goes off. I think its set as soon as you visit. (iirc)
Simple way is to test it. If you consistently get the same pokemon then its set when the radar goes off.

Oh and be sure to pick up the Togepi from the scientist at the outskirt stand. It has Tri-attack which is an XD only move.
You may have to reset forever until you get a good nature however.

^Actually, I think it's set as soon as you check the Radar. The rarer the Pokemon, the faster it blinks. Pokemon like Surskit and Trapinch blink a lot faster than Zubat or Sandshrew. Munchlax and Bonsly will make it blink crazy fast.

It would have especially since Munchlax and Bonsly weren't part of Gen 3.

But I recall that they were both in the game.

No definite answer, huh? Well thanks for trying to help at least. I'm about to head Into Cipher's desert lab so I'll find out soon enough.

Once the radar goes off the species and PID (thus Nature/gender) is set.

This appears to be the case, I've hit the reset button on the console 10 times and I keep getting Zubats...
