Pre-Elite 4 Pokemon
- Topic Archived
Just for curiosity's sake, I'm using Espeon that I LOVE, Lucario that I like ok but I feel a little cliche using, and Growlithe and Leavanny that I'm probably going to replace if I find something else. I'll probably pick up Tynamo in Chargestone and may replace Growlithe with Chandelure. Then my last two slots I'll probably take Lapras and Gliscor, but those come later in the game - in past pokemon games I've usually had my final team much earlier. Oh I guess I should point out I'm not using my starter either. I used Oshawott in White and liked him, but I don't really care for the other two at all and as I said I'm trying not to use pokemon I've used in other games.
I'm not trying to criticize the game since this is completely just my opinion - I was just curious if anyone else had a similar experience.
I'd be curious for people to list the in-game teams they used in this game - mainly if you didn't trade any in from other games.

Even though I breezed through the Elite Four with just four pokemon. I felt that there were enough choices throughout the game. Thinking back now I wish I picked up Volcarona for it's unique typing, overall lack of decent fire moves in my team and the good Special Attack. I ran:

Well i can hardly say I have a "team" more like a box full of pokés I like.
However for the sake of argument, my team:
- Porygon 2
The rest is in my box and too much to list.

Interesting...I guess it's just my taste, then. :) Maybe I'm really picky about pokemon design or something, haha.

I guess for me... there's very few Pokemon I don't like. I found myself replacing Pokemon along the way a lot more than I usually do however. My initial "well rounded" team was:
I ended up replacing Servine with Yamask for the normal-immunity, then replaced Magnemite with a Joltik a friend traded me with Energy Ball. Then in order to make space for some better coverage I replaced Golduck and Tranquill with Ducklett, and added Sandile. So I ended up with
Eventually I dropped Yamask for a Solosis, which I quickly evolved up to Reuniclus (traded from a friend as well).
The final changes I made were just after the last gym - I replaced Lucario with Meinshao because of better coverage (Lucario's levelset in BW2 is bad), and decided I could do without Fly - so replaced Swanna with Azumarill. My endgame team was:
Oddly enough, in White right after launch Meinshao and Reuniclus were my two powerhouses as well.
