Why do you like Shiny Pokemon?

It's natural for people to cherish things that are rare. It happens in real life all the time, we assign a lot larger value to things because of their scarcity even if what it is shouldn't be worth so much. For example take an unopened Pokemon red or blue version, it's value is in the hundreds of dollars even though all you are getting is a cardboard box with a game of antiquated technology in it. But because it is so rare it has a much greater value than what it otherwise would be worth.

Shinji X Asuka is the most sacred pairing in all of anime. That is an unnegotiable fact.

^Except they're not rare. Only people to people that let the game play them.

You have a 1 in 8192 chance in finding one. That's rare.

People love them because they're rare.

Okay so they aren't rare if you're a cheater, what's your point? Why do you or other RNGers/hackers get them then?

I was just answering his question with the truth. Just because you force shinies to appear doesn't mean they aren't rare for most people.

1/8192? Sounds like you're letting the game play you. Poorly at that, since at best you can get 1/1024.

For me, I have 1/1 odds on unaltered game/save/hardware.

I like some shiny pokes better than others. Some are just a random pallete swap, while others are just pure awesomeness.

Favorite shiny is definitely Rapidash. That black fire mane makes him look like a ghost horse used in fantasy settings called a Nightmare.

You know what he means, just because you RNG does not negate the rareness if the game is played as intended.

Why is everyone on these boards always a smartass?

I never could stand the whole "shiny" craze.

I only caught one "shiny" pokemon only once in Pokemon Sapphire and that was it.
