trying to come up with a legendary-catcher Gallade moveset BUT

ftr this is what I have

-False Swipe
-Swords Dance
-Mean Look
-Hypnosis

The problem is that Gallade can only know Hypnosis from Kirlia, who learns it at Lv50 in Gen IV (where I'm doing this)

but Gallade also learns False swipe at Lv50 and Kirlia can't learn that

my question is, can you make Kirlia learn Hypnosis, then show it a Dawn Stone, and then as soon as it evolves into a Gallade it'll try to learn False Swipe? Or do I have to go to the Move Relearner?

Teach Hypnosis.

Evolve into Gallade.

Use False Swipe TM.

The fifth generation bumped up Kirlia's learning of Hypnosis up to level 53. You do have several options available to get around the Kirlia-Hyposis 53/Gallade-False Swipe 50 barrier:

1: Get a male in the Indeterminate egg group that knows Hypnosis (Gastly works well for this) and a breeding female Ralts/Kirlia. Raise the Ralts/Kirlia to level 45/53 (depending on evolution stage) so it learns Hypnosis. The resulting hatchling should then know Hypnosis from the outset; evolve it into Gallade as you would normally.

2: Hold back a Ralts's evolution until level 45 to learn Hypnosis, then let her evolve into Kirlia and then to Gallade from there. Level 50 False Swipe can be attained at this juncture.

3: Raise a Kirlia normally and wait until level 53 to learn Hypnosis, then evolve her into Gallade. Take her to the Move Relearner and teach it False Swipe.

4: Same as methods 2 and 3 as far as completing the evolution chain. At this point, register as "seen" every Pokémon findable at Reversal Mountain, both inside and outside areas, through normal random encounters. If you do this, you'll get the TM for False Swipe from an NPC character at Reversal Mountain. Gallade is compatible with this TM, so use it on her!

Your next problem should be dealing with Hypnosis's 60% accuracy...

To be honest you don't need Mean Look, there aren't any legendaries in Black 2 that are roamers. In Black 1 there's only one but you could always just use your Master Ball

IMO, Thunder Wave > Hypnosis because it's more accurate and paralysis doesn't ever wear off like sleep does.
