Something weird is happening with my electric Pokemon

I had an eevee then used a thunder stone on it and whenever Jolteon would attack it would make me swap out jolteon for another Pokemon. So I now have joltix and it does the same thing. Anyone know why

Stop using Volt switch.

I know, but instead of giving you the answer, I'll ask you instead to have a look at the description of the attack you're using, which I believe to be Volt Switch.

Try using a move that's not Volt Switch. Volt Switch, as well as its Bug-type physical contact-making counterpart U-Turn, have the effect of being forced to switch out the user as long as you've got another able Pokémon in your party. I take it you're somewhere between beating Elesa and reaching Lentimas Town, as Volt Switch is the only offensive Electric-type TM you have access to in that part of the game...

By any chance, are you using the move Volt Switch?

Problem is that Mariofan is right. If TC paid attention to the description, he would know that Volt Switch makes the pokemon switch after it's attack.

Elesa even says what it does when she gives it.
