Favorite Pseudo-Legendary

Who says those are the requirements of a "pseudo-legendary?" It's an arbitrary term made up by a bunch of people on the internets. It doesn't actually mean anything.

As far as I'm concerned, a pseudo-legendary is something that seems like a legendary but actually isn't one. To me Volcarona fits that description, regardless of BST or any other "requirements" it supposedly doesn't meet.

Yeah, I agree with FuneralCake.

Honestly I even consider Rotom legendary (it has the music in D/P/Pt, anyhow).

Sure but then I guess the words "counter", "check" and "shiny" (till recently at least) mean nothing too. It has as much meaning as these:

For me, it's Salamence.

Overall, my rankings go: Salamence > Hydreigon > Dragonite > Garchomp > Tyranitar > Metagross.

"Shiny," as you said, is an official term now, so it definitely does mean something.

Both "check" and "counter" have explicit meanings that can be inferred by the words that describe them. You can't really look at a word like "counter" and think "Hey, maybe this means I can switch in a Pokemon and it will be completely destroyed by the opponent, therefore countering their Pokemon." That just doesn't make sense.

With "pseudo-legendary," the term is ambiguous. It can mean a lot of different things. Not really so much with those other terms.

Counter can mean many things. "The gain the advantage" stream of meaning suggests moves like magnet rise or something like that. Like I'll counter that EQ by using magnet rise before it. Or a counter can be a pokemon that offsets something, rather than take advantage off. Most of the terms we use in gaming environments are fan made. Literally every reputable pokemon site has one definition of pseudo-legendary.
