I was finally able to play the tutorial and it's actually pretty awesome. I'm not that concerned with the small maps because that's how I played Cities XL so I am used to building cities dedicated to a certain zone.

The graphics are nice and well optimized but this online crap is pathetic and the game has locked me out because I have it set to 1440p and for some reason the game won't launch in that resolution and I can't switch it back.

I kinda get the complaints with small maps but I kinda see this as more of a Cities building game than a city building game, if you get what I mean. Which is that you're goal is to build multiple cities, each geared in different ways. At least that's what I get from the previews. Gotta wait until Friday to get my grubby mitts on this.

why can't the cities themselves be bigger? while at the same time making lots of other cities...worked great with sc4

Because the game is clearly a memory hog. Not just because of the graphics but that new game engine is running all sorts of stuff constantly. I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason for the always online is so certain data can be pulled from the servers rather than being held in ram. Sure they likely could make them bigger but the game has to be playable by most people.

I didn't check the task manager to see how much resources the game uses but as far as GPU power goes, this game is well optimized because my laptops 660M can max it out easily.

Now if I could only get the game to launch in 1440p I would see what my desktop cards can do.
