This new one looks really awesome. It looks really complicated though...Is it easy to dive into if you haven't kept up with the series?

I hadn't really played any except that one too, and I found this pretty easy to jump into. There's a bit of trial and error involved in some aspects of it, but I found the information you need to know is a lot easier to decipher than in the old SNES SimCity. There are a lot of different views/overlays you can use that show you what's what in a flash. When I start playing it's hard to stop!

The SNES game is actually much more complicated. Seriously.

SimCity on SNES is awesome.

You won't have any problems with the new SimCity, it's wicked fun and easy to learn.

The SNES version was so fun. And the Iphone version ( which is htink is simply a port of it)

Its pretty much the same, but a little more dynamic.

I.e you play around with residential zones and build them a certain way to attract a certain kind of sim and play around with taxes to keep out certain types of busieness etc etc. Very fun, but buggy. Give it another month and things should pick up.

Wish I still had the SNES version. It's proper slow but a really good representation of the game. Wasn't there also a port of SimCity 2000 on the SNES?

Yeah...and it was pretty bad, at least compared to the "original" SNES game which is still one of my favorite Simulation style games.
Is it true that if you don't use it......you lose it???

Huh, and I thought this new SimCity was the first with a fully 3D game engine...

Given that the RCI system is completely broken, you can build all residential cities and regions, and the city size is smaller than SNES; I think it will be easy enough for you to dive into.

Alright! Thanks people, you boosted my confidence...I'm on a mac so I'll have to wait till it ports over to buy the game. I look forward to playing though. Until then I'll stick to my SNES cart lol.
