This is a city tax rate, not a federal or national government tax rate.

I don't know about everywhere, but you are right about water and power in he US at least, where private industry owns it, and citizens pay for it. Also, medical care is socialized in SC (always has been) as is education.

The 11% is the cities taxes which in the real world are less than 5% usually. State and Federal make up the bulk of income taxes.

But yes it's a little weird to have a city pay for water service since they should be charging residents for it.

I would think the fact that EA shows up anywhere on this product would hint to "not realistic at all"

As another user pointed out, this is the city tax on top of the national, state, and county taxes (yes, those last ones exist).

In Sim City, the water and power systems are run through a socialist system. You pay for the utilities, and your citizens make up that difference in the taxes (which, by the way, you should refrain from raising above 11%).

Fire trucks can't run people over. The simple explanation is that the residents of your city do not pull over for the fire trucks. As a result, they have no choice but to follow traffic.

The game actually takes place in the year 2052, 30 after we first cloned dinosaurs. The lack of advanced technology (such as hoverboards, interplanetary travel, and good programming) was caused by a malicious file within the next version of Sim City, which after going off in the mid-2020s, deleted the entire internet and set the world back 50 years technologically, allowing the dinosaurs to escape. They changed the dates in the game so you wouldn't notice.

You expected simcity game to be realistic?

Anyways taxes are kinda bugged in my opinion. What is the point of being able to raise them real high if no one will stay past 11%?

Dino Attacks! Zombie Attacks! All of this and you think this game should be realistic? The mayor can summon disasters after a while!

You can still raise taxes temporarily to raise money in a pinch.
