Oh so that means they don't adjust their reviews and that video game review sites have no standards and just write whatever to get the most money.

nope, but feel free to keep that tin foil hat on nice and snug.

I've bought this game put about 40 hours in it and usually I'm the first to defend a game but this is a broken POS. Here's what's wrong and I'm not super in depth.

1. No Cheetah.
2. Traffic is a mess, 3 lane avenue, let's all take the same lane.
3. Emergency vehicles all respond to the same area if they can make it in time.
4. You can zone a 100 percent residential city and it will succeed without any other city for your workers to commute to and no industry/commercial in your city.
5. The size of the cities is incredibly small and the people with all residential cities can only get to about 500k population.
6. Trying to create a great works has a huge delay. You can send 100 tons of metal and it takes 4 hours to register that it was sent.
7. There is no public game filter if you did want to join a public game to share in resources/develop specific cities with randoms you have to go to the forums because the first games that pop up are from the release day 4 weeks ago.
8. A lot of tourist attractions are broken most specifically casinos.

That's just what I've noticed in my short time playing this game there are way more bugs than this. I hate to say it but this game has not been tested properly before release.

5. The size of the cities is incredibly small and the people with all residential cities can only get to about 500k population.

you can get over 1 mil with pure residential you can get to 800k with residential/commericial. Those are just the highest i've personally seen posted, there could be more.

6. Trying to create a great works has a huge delay. You can send 100 tons of metal and it takes 4 hours to register that it was sent.

it's because of traffic getting in/out of the city

8. A lot of tourist attractions are broken most specifically casinos.

they aren't broken.

as for cheetah and filtering

most people that play the game, enjoy the game. Contrary to what 5 users who don't own this game want to claim.

Yeeaaahhh no. I've never seen so much backlash at a game, this game is hated more than the new DmC, that's quite an accomplishment. So many legitimate reasons to hate this game it's crazy. Reassurance posts are the funniest out there, people making themselves feel better about spending $60 on a beta/unfinished/inferior product when compared to the previous iterations in the same series, or similar games within the genre.

I do not have an opinion on the game, I do not own it and I don't plan to. As a Simcity vet (city builders in general), I've read about enough problems, issues, or simply what could be considered nothing but steps taken backwards for the series to stop me from purchasing. I see no reason why I should drop $60 on this game when pretty much every other game in the genre is is superior. Even within the series, it falls even way behind Simcity 4 which came out how many millenniums ago?

Want full blown out opinions of people who go into extreme detail why this game is a disappointment? Go to Simcity's sub-board on reddit. There are a plenty of them that make you wish there were tl;dr versions, with graphs, pictures, videos and whatever else.

considering an overhwelming majority of the backlash is from people who don't own the game, my statement remains the same.

People hate that they use drm and launch issues that come with it are always going to get a negative reaction.

and yet, here you sit, voicing your (valid) complaints and trying to deny that the people who do own the game enjoy it.

It is different then SimCity 4. Simcity 1-4 all took towards a push towards a more realistic simulation. SimCity is a reboot for a reason. It does some things quite nice, it does some things quite poorly. If simcity 4 was your favorite simcity, this game is likely not for you. If SimCity or SimCity 2000 were your favorites, there is a better chance you'll enjoy this game.

If you read the content of any of the reviews, including the amazon ones. You'll find the same overall message.

The game is fun, the servers(at launch) are bad, it would be nice if cities were bigger.

I hate EA as much as, if not more than anyone I know. That said, this is an incredibly fun game up to a point. That point for me is when the programming does incredibly stupid things that I cannot do a thing about and it causes ruin in my well planned and laid out city.

Two cars somehow occupying the same space in the right lane of a high density avenue results in total gridlock. No cars pass them on the left. They do not 'fix' themselves and move forward even though there is no traffic for 100 yards in front of them. No cars that need to get by will divert their route due to the 'accident.' and instead just sit still for literally days. Eventually traffic in that whole area of town is at a standstill. No service vehicles can get through - no buses, garbage, recycling, ambulance, firetrucks, etc. Either I bulldoze everything and start over or the city falls apart.

I have low tech low density factories that need workers. I zone for low wealth residential surrounding it. Those people that move in do not get hired. The factory closes. The residents cannot find jobs and abandon their homes.

And why the heck do sirens not mean a thing in this game? IRL emergency vehicles get the right of way at all times. In this game the firefighters sit in gridlock like a bunch of doofuses (doofi?) as the fire spreads and takes three or four buildings down.

I can get a town up to about ~150k pretty successfully and have $1M+ banked. After that, no matter what I do it cannot sustain itself due to AI problems. I'm having fun with it. The start up portion is fun...but I want to have my one big city that I consider my 'main' one and toy around in other little cities. This game seems to limit me to playing just a bunch of those little cities. An honest review (not taking into account the DRM and server issues) would bring those things up but also talk about the good stuff too. I'd honestly give it a 6 out of 10 or so. But if they patch it up, give us bigger areas (as no cost DLC!) and make the "people" behave "smarter" then it could be an 8.5.

Really Toast? Really? Plenty of people on reddit have posted examples of their own cities through videos and pictures highlighting the big issues with the game. Don't even try to say they don't own the game. What other kind of proof do you want them to have? They provided biggest proof someone possibly can on the Internet and it's the kind of proof everyone else can actually see.

If you choose to ignore that and live in your little bubble of denial that's fine, but don't even try and say they don't have the game or haven't played it. Lots of legitimate reasons to complain but here you are, defending your $60 bucks like your life depended on it.

Where do you see me trying to deny people who bought it the fun? All I said was that your assumptions and delusional views are wrong. Ever since the game has been announced I've barely posted on these forums, 99% I've done nothing but reading. Good job again at jumping to your own conclusions though, based on what I've seen you post since the launch of this game I can't say I'm surprised.

On that note, I'm not here to argue in reassurance topics posted by delusional people. I just wanted to point out how wrong you are. Feel free to keep believing the BS you're spewing though, it's a free world after all.
