Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

I got a Toshiba with Windows 8 installed, and so far I've been unable to play this game on it. I get the white screen, a little music, then it freezes. Normally, I would try to fix the problem myself, but this is only one of many problems I've been facing with this new laptop, so I'm about to return it and get something more comfortable to me.

Before I get a new laptop though, I thought I'd see what would be best for playing this game. Is there a particular version of Windows that has an easier time using it, or specific type of computer that works better for it? Sorry if these are dumb or ignorant questions, but I will not pretend for a second to be at all computer savvy. >.>

Also, if I downloaded this game on Steam once already, will I be able to download it again with the same passcode I got from Gamestop, or am I gonna have to buy it again?

I run it on Win8 with no prob.

The reason your game doesn't run as it should can be caused by 2 things:
1. You're running an Intel HD Graphics chip (2000/3000/4000), they DO NOT work with BG:EE.
2. You need to update the graphics drivers to a newer version (check nvidia.com or amd.com, after checking which GPU you have).


And yes, you may download and install this game on as many computers as you wish if you bought it from steam. You can however only play it on one computer at a time.
