Barca might as well field a weakened team vs Benfica since they have an extremely tough away match at Real Betis coming up. Since Barca won the group already, why go all out and risk an injury to a key player?

excuse my ignorance. But since when is Real Betis a tough away match. Is "a tough away match" a match where Barca can only salvage a win by 2 goals rather than 5?

Historically, Barca doesn't travel well to Real Betis. Last two trips ended in draws including one of which, Barca was 0-2 down at a point in the match. An analogy here, Real Betis away for Barca is like a match vs Mexico with Brazil. Also have to mention that Real Betis managed to beat Real Madrid and is currently in a dog fight for 4th place with Malaga right now.

As much as I want Barca to win, I wouldn't mind Benfica winning just to troll Celtic.

Lol still mad about that humiliation?

Not trying to have a dig at Celtic, but I always prefer a team that plays attack minded football over a defensive minded team. That's why I'd rather Benfica advance to the next round instead of Celtic.

And I prefer underdogs with heart and fantastic fans who sing for their team no matter what.

Good on Leo. whoever reaches the round of 16 will deserve the spot. I wonder what kind of line-up Tito will put in vs Benfica. Would be nice if Messi broke Muller's record vs Benfica since its a home game.

Just take note of how Benfica play against Barca. Probably won't be the flowing football your hoping for.

We need to beat Dortmund and hope Ajax don't beat Real.

And we've got the Derby on Sunday and 5 missing players. Richards, Silva, Clichy, Kolorov. Yaya is suspended for this.

What do. Rotate and hope for the best I guess. I still want us to be in the Europa League - We've got fringe players who I think can play in there.

-------------------------- Hart ---------------------
-- Zabaleta ----Nastasic ---- Kompany ------- Maicon
------- Milner ----- Rodwell ---- Barry -------- Nasri
------------ Balotelli ------------ Dzeko ---------------

I want Maicon playing in the Derby, seeing as how weak United look in the air and his crossing is superb. Lescott should be rested and start, too. Nastasic is looking better and better, so I'm not too worried about him playing here,

Benfica actually played a bit of attacking football when they played Barca in Portugal. Barca is going to field a weaker team for sure so Benfica has a real chance to have a go at Barca and get a result.
