Would this provide enough diversity in the Boss Battles?

Each world with the exception of 8 should have 2 fortresses and 1 castle. One of the fortresses in each world should be reserved for a random koopaling, and the castle will be used to fight a boss.

W1- 2 Reznor in other Fortress
W2- Fight against boom boom (Jump around the whole time)
W3- 3 Reznor in fortress
W4- Pom Pom (Jumping around and throwing Boomerangs like in SM3DL)
W5- 4 Reznor with flying cheep cheeps.
W6- Boom Boom and Pom Pom (Boom Boom now sprouts wings after 1st hit like in SMB3)
W7- Kamek (Disappearing floors and magic attacks like in NSMBWii

World 8 will have 3 fortresses and 2 castles (One is a distraction like in NSMB)
Fortress 1- 2 Wheels of 4 Reznors on either side and flying cheep cheeps.
Fortress 2- Boom Boom and Pom Pom. Boom Boom will duck into his shell and spin around in between attacks, and Pom Pom will sprout wings and throw Boomerangs at you from above while sweeping down every now and then.
Fortress 3- No maze to begin with, You fight one koopaling, and then a door opens up for you to go fight another one until you've fought all of them.

Castle 1: Fight Bowser in his Clown Car with Mecha Koopas, then after 3 hits, he drops out and fights you like in SMB3.
Castle 2: Bowser Jr. Uses a crane to pull him out of the pit before you fight the both of them. Then Kamek comes and makes Bowser huge to climax in a chase scene Ala NSMBWii.

Bosses for Each worlds Castles.

World 1 Castle: Goomboss, you avoid him until springs fall from either side, allowing you to ground pound him 3 times for the win.
World 2 Castle: King Bob-omb: Use springs around the room to avoid touching him, then regular Bob-ombs attack and you have to disable them to have them destruct around him. Similar to the Mouser Fight from SMB2/SMBUSA
World 3 Castle: Boss Bass, he has spikes on his back, you fight on a bridge against him and flying cheep cheeps. You avoid him as he jumps until he does a spin in the air and you jump on his belly. Stay away from his mouth to avoid being eaten.
World 4 Castle: Gooper Blooper: He flails around and spits ink on you until he slams each of his 6 tentacles down for you to jump on. Destroy all 6 for the win.
World 5 Castle: King Boo, lights will be shining in a pattern on the arena, wait for him to pass in front of the light so he becomes vulnerable enough to jump on.
World 6 Castle: Monty Mole King, he burrows under the ground and you have to wait for the opportune moment to ground pound him. Every time he comes up he throws a regular Monty Mole at you to wreak havoc.
World 7 Castle: Wart. I know it's a long shot, but you would have to deactivate the bob-ombs coming out of the machine and throw those in his open mouth rather than Vegetables. Only 3 blasts instead of 5 due to the increased timing required.

Would these boss battles be diverse and difficult enough to please you?

I figure if they're relying on nostalgia they should at least make the returning enemies have flashy battles.

Everything is good here except the Castle fights; I want mostly original bosses. But aside from that, the bosses seem like they would provide a decent challenge and variety. Also, I think the 2nd fortress in each world should be replaced by an Airship.

That could work, put the Koopalings in the Airships so it really goes back to SMB3. I like it.

Just randomize which boss fight you get. Number each one 1 through 7 and upon starting a new file generate a seven digit number deciding which boss you fight so it isn't known until you go down the pipe/enter the door to fight them.
