All of them have their own songs & charms. --- SPREAD THE WORDS!!! PS3 exclusive game YAKUZA DEAD SOULS English version released in March 13th 2012!!! |
miyuki308Posted 6/11/2012 9:38:27 AM | If you want to experience the whole series, the first game. If you want an easier game to get into the series or just want to experience one of the games, 2nd. --- Rin is an angel. Anticipating: P4G, Nayuta no Kiseki. SEGA! Take my money now, please! |
lambchipsPosted 6/11/2012 9:53:06 AM | 2 has a better selection imo but extended has rin rin signal (probably one of my fav songs)
i'd go with 2 first --- phantasy star zero FC- 2364- 5734-1428 |

miyuki308Posted 6/11/2012 10:40:16 AM | The original game have a not-as-polished system, many of the songs get slow downs during gameplay, and the jump between normal and hard was huge. --- Rin is an angel. Anticipating: P4G, Nayuta no Kiseki. SEGA! Take my money now, please! |
stealthgigaPosted 6/11/2012 10:58:03 AM | I wouldn't say many, just a few, like Love Is War and Dreaming Leaf, but it's pretty bad when it happens and can break your combo.
The original doesn't have long press and double press, just tap. It's simpler in that regard and sometimes I like this simplicity.
The original's scoring system is pretty unfair since most scores are obtained during Chance Time. You can do well in a song, but screw up a bit in Chance Time and not get Excellent rating. 2nd fixed it by having the rating determined by the number of misses instead (and you don't get relatively as many scores during Chance Time). Sometimes I still like the 1st scoring system, since it makes me high during Chance Time, though ^^; --- Check out my gaming diary! http://helugame.wordpress.com/ My progress and screenshots of Japanese games |

I believe all my friends complained about Star story being that ONE stage with the biggest slow down. (And it does stand out.) KoiSen, if anything, was one of the ones that suffered the least slow down on the ones that have it.

Ah yeah it didn't have those. But I don't know, that jump between normal and hard was pretty brutal. =\ I never even bothered doing any of the hard stuffs 'cause of that.

There was no excellent in the original. \o/ You either great or perfect. --- Rin is an angel. Anticipating: P4G, Nayuta no Kiseki. SEGA! Take my money now, please! |
stealthgigaPosted 6/11/2012 11:52:40 AM | Ah, poor memories I have here ^^; so if screw up at Chance Time you may get Standard instead of Great.
That's weird because I don't remember Star Story having slowdowns. Maybe I got lucky perfecting on first try then never bothered to play it again. Koisen, though, not breaking my combo during Chance Time because of the sudden frame dip seems like a miracle. Same goes with Dreaming Leaf during wide shots I think.
But yeah, it's been a while since I had the first... ^^;
On topic, I would say get 2nd, Extend, followed by 1st as well. --- Check out my gaming diary! http://helugame.wordpress.com/ My progress and screenshots of Japanese games |
