Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f

I thought this might be worth sharing here. Just made this quick vector trace of Miku from one of her PVs in the game http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/2497/oddsandendsmiku.png

I'm planning to have this image printed out and hand-painted onto some customized Miku shoes -- there's a small stall running that sort of business in my area for 990 php, which is roughly 24 USD.

And here are the actual shoes... there are some noticeable errors, (particularly the shape of the chin, some colors/details missing and the other mouth being way off-center) but at least it's hand-painted and it doesn't look too bad at a glance, I suppose.

Or the equivalent of it in my currency, yes. It's handpainted so I suppose there should be some margin for error. I'm just a bit disappointed that the errors are actually in the construction of the drawing. I sent them a big enough image, they could have actually just traced it.

... Yep. If I am to be honest with you, Miku has one hell of a derp face on those shoes, not to mention the paint job is sort of...Bad.

Since I draw myself, I know the shoes look bad from an artist's perspective or a particularly meticulous person's. The paint job is also pretty mediocre for a store selling custom shoes in a shopping mall (at least the price includes the shoes and not just the custom paint job). Surprisingly though, most people don't notice it here -- or they just don't have the guts to say it IRL. The said store actually had some very well-made hand-painted Bleach shoes on display, which is why I thought they wouldn't have a problem with this simple design (it's just a Miku mugshot). I suppose their artist has more experience with doing more mainstream stuff like Naruto, Bleach etc.
