Monster weaknesses and how to detonate

I was just directed to this information from a thread where I was asking questions and thought it would be useful information since the game has launched. Credit goes to the people in this thread.

In order to exploit weaknesses you need to know the elemental weakness of a monster. I will post ReikOu's list after explaining detonation tactics. For reference there's an elemental wheel on page 31 of the Soul Sacrifice manual (digital manual). The wheel goes

    Fire <- Ice <- Thunder <- Stone <- Poison <- Fire

Once you know a monster's weakness you can exploit with a detonation tactic. To detonate a weakness you move backwards on the elemental wheel. This is best explained with an example

Edit: just tested. The first time you cause an ailment that you can detonate from a notification comes up saying "vulnerability achieved". That let's you know you then detonate (fire attacks cause burning and freeze attacks will freeze something or leave chunks of ice on it)

If a monster is weak to ice you are casting ice spells until you see it freeze (I think there's also notifications about stuff when you've cast enough but not sure) then you use the element that ice is weak to which is thunder. When you do that in a quest you will see "skillful attack" (might only happen the first time) and that will let you know you completed it.

This is how we exploit elemental weaknesses for heavy damage and high scores. If I haven't explained this very well please feel free to elaborate and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask

Below is a table of monster weaknesses from that archived topic. I was also told the first time you fight a boss the element of the rewards should tell you the element of the boss and then you can figure out what their weakness is if you're having trouble.

For monsters with an unknown weakness use CTRL-F and search the thread for the monster name to see if anyone as updated us as I can't edit this post after like an hour
