A better argument would be if Magic and Prime Laker Shaq was the most athletic player in history.
Magic wasn't athletic, he just had size and a high basketball IQ. He wasn't really super fast and didn't out jump anyone, and he doesn't have too many replays where you say "how is that humanly possible". He has fancy passes and great court vision, but those are a product of learning the game and not really athleticism.
I consider Orlando Shaq to be more athletic than Laker Shaq. Orlando Shaq was quick (not fast), Strong, and had decent ups for a big man. Laker Shaq was a monster because of his strength only.
As far as other Athletes, I think KG is underrated from that standpoint because he had a more well rounded game offensively. But KG could play defense almost anyone, was as quick (not fast) as some guards and had a good vertical. If all else was the same and he was just 6'8, he'd could have easily been an SF, but his size made him a PF. In fact, in All star Games during the early 2000s, he played SF because Duncan was the other starter.
Side Note: Early 2000s West ASG Starting 5 was Kidd, Kobe, Garnett, Duncan, Shaq. Got to be one of the greatest ASG Starting 5 of all time.
