What I don't get is why people are complaining about how few characters there are...
And then they mention stuff like "quality >>> quantity". WTF DO YOU WANT?
People who insist that it'll have DLC really aren't helping. DLC is supposed to be last priority. The first priority is to come up with an excellent game that can stand on its own. Smash Bros never had DLC, but I doubt anyone thinks it's a bad game because of it.
I mean, I want DLC too, but I don't want the main game to lack anything because of it.
I don't think the main game is going to lack anything because of DLC but it seems pretty obvious that they're not going to be able to prepare everything before Christmas 2012 so we're probably destined to get a handful of things via DLC. The director of the game even said that DLC should be expected with a game like this. I don't give a damn if Smash Brothers never had DLC since the Wii has never really been a DLC console to begin with.
Basically DLC = the potential to add characters that are high in demand that did not end up making the original roster but fans REALLY wanted them, so we got them. |
NewMoonShadowPosted 5/7/2012 3:41:29 PM | Yes standards are higher now but this doesn't give you the right to become an unreasonable butt-wit and demand that first entries into any fighting series must have 30+ characters. People demanded this of MVC3 and look what happened there, you had a massive cast of 35-or-so characters, but the rest of the game suffered because all their time was spent making characters instead of modes, stories, and stages. |

That was on the N64 guys, quality has gone way up since then, the dev teams are huge and tons of money goes into these projects.
Preach it bro.
Why do you prove time and time again that you don't know what your talking about? I don't have to say anything else as people already have proven you wrong, you may not even come back to reply. --- true megaman fan and CFE Ingrid fan |

I never said or implied that. Basically what I'm saying is that the game's position in a series should not impact it's quality. --- I am the Box Ghost. Beware. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lqz6jrOvvK1qd3p2to1_500.gif |
