Team Ninja Theory knows how to write a proper story, so I'm actually excited that (for once) the DmC games can be a combination of tight, fluid gameplay and a story that's actually compelling to some degree beyond "hey that guy is flying around shooting things while insulting them COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL"
Except that's all we've seen in the trailers, besides heavy-handed social commentary and pizza taint.
And NT is also known for games that look cool in trailers, and turn out to be incredibly mediocre.
That's my point -
All you've seen are trailers. I've played a lot of DmC in my day. The plot was never particularly good, it was just fun. Parts where it tried to be dramatic, like stuff with Virgil or the legendary "I should've been the one to fill your dark soul with LIGHT!!!!" were just facepalm-tacular.
You can't sit there and tell me that after 4 games of
that, you're ready to dismiss a new entry because of a couple of 2 minute promotional trailers.
If you don't want to give the game a chance, that's fine. I'm not demanding that you go and spend $60 on it and then tell me how you feel afterwards. But you have to realize that it's silly to judge a game's entire story and validity because of 2 minutes of promotional material.

If I haven't mentioned Kat in my post, it's because she is so beautiful and precarious that I just wanted to show her how much she means to me.
