According to my source, Paul Gale bribed SuperBot into putting him in the game. I've played as him before, and he is easily the best character in the game. He borrows his moveset from Ryu from Street Fighter.
There will also be Day 1 DLC, which SuperBot will announce at TGS (they are also set to announce Mickey and Vampire Cole at the event.)
The Day 1 DLC will be entitled, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale: Deathmatch. It will include the new game mode Deathmatch, which pits the player against 100 AI opponents. Clearing the mode on Brutal difficulty unlocks Otacon (from the MGS series) as a playable character.
Sounds good actually.
And if we had that kind of challenge to unlock our characters, it'd be more satisfying.
