How about this? Why can't we just say that Kat is Kat? She's from a fictional universe where our nationalities may not necessarily apply. Her having darker skin may not mean anything to the people of that universe. Also, I don't think Kat's nationality has ever been stated by the creative team.

Kat is Kat, leave it at that.

In the game, it really sounds like she's talking French. I'm not familiar with the language so I dunno, maybe it's a custom thing they made up (like in Team ICO games), but the lilt of her voice and the words used really sounded French to me.

If I haven't mentioned Kat in my post, it's because she is so beautiful and precarious that I just wanted to show her how much she means to me.

This. Plus if you stand next to the "black" people in the game, you'll see that she is much lighter. Plus her natural hair color is blond.
