If Platinum was HAND drawn, she'd be on paper, fool. This is a video game. They just made her on screen, no "drawing" involved -Delano7 on BlazBlue

That is a commercial failure by todays standards.

Some people need to realize that lackluster story mode is a valid complaint. So is presentation. It's all apart of the game and you don't just ignore those faults in a review. The story mode does need work. It's terrible. They could have done much cooler gongs with rivals but all you get is a 2 minute scene

I wish Blastoise was my dad. He wouldn't beat my mom like what her boyfriend, Johnny does. If Blastoise was my dad things would be different around here.

How scores work these days:

5 and lower - crap
6 - bad
7 - ok
8 - good
9 - great
10 - amazing

this is how it actually works:

7 and lower - unplayable garbage
7.1-8.4 - bad
8.5-8-9 - medicore
9.0-9.5 - great
9.6-10 - overrated piece of crap

Yeah, I agree on both counts, but I still think it's overly punitive to take 2 points off for that stuff. That's literally the only con that IGN lists, which is bizarre and unfair for a fighting game. Especially when the lauded praise on SF and SFxT recently, and both of those games have the same exact kind of story that this does.

It really seems like IGN was comparing this game to Smash Bros when it came to the story, which is so unfair because Brawl had an enormous budget and could afford to basically make an entire platformer game inside of their fighting game. XD

Also, I still can't get over how bad Colin is at this game after playing it for 50 hours.

If I haven't mentioned Trivio in my post, it's because she is so beautiful and precarious that I just wanted to show her how much she means to me.

So IGN matters now?

keep in mind this is from IGN most of there reviews are so bad for certain hyped games that they list 4 good points and like 10 or more negative things about and still give the a 9

Never ever got to ign for the reviews just go for the news.

That's a great score especially since people were so hesitant with this game.

This is wrong

Fix'd for you. I've played games that are a 7 and are definitely playable. I've enjoyed some games that are a 7, because sometimes games that get a 7 aren't for everyone. Sometimes they are niche. For example, not everyone likes JRPGs.

So the real way it actually works is:
< 7 - Unplayable garbage
7 - Average/niche
8 - Good
9 - Great
10 - Amazing and flawless.

Though my personally view on the scores, from the games I've played, is that a lot of 7s are actually good, 8s are great, 9s are amazing and 10s are amazing (though once that hype wears off they aren't usually flawless masterpieces).

So we all have different views on the scoring system, which means that those people saying "8 is considered average to everyone" are wrong.
