I first heard his voice in Mortal Kombat, and he was always yelling there.

His voice actually sounds nice when he's just talking.

Not as nice as Tom Baker's voice but comparing someone to Tom Baker would be unfair.

Wait, Kratos talks in this? He doesn't just yell!?
I can't even remember him having an indoor voice in the GOW games...haven't played them in a while though.

Yeah, in his Arcade cutscenes he talks in a normal sounding voice.

"The Gods of Olympus have abandoned me. Now there is no hope." Very softly in the beginning of 1. In most GoW, he yells more than 90% of the time.
