IGN: PlayStation All-Stars Sales "are Right on Target", Sony says

#11ImDyinSquirtlePosted 11/27/2012 3:00:48 PM
LuminescentRule: Of course Sony won't admit that it flopped, it would be bad for the investors

Big Kahn: So even Sony knew that this game wouldn't sell, thats why they had low expectations.

How do you miss the more important second part of the quote from Sony?

"Sales are right on target with expectations and we are happy with them.

Typical PR / marketing answer.

This article neither confirms nor denies that this game flopped.

any time a game sells below their expections they always say the game didn't meet expections.

Great news and also debunks the "38 on the top 40" trolls have been spewing. 38 is not bad if only 1 day of sales was counted releasing the 23rd and sales data for the week stopping on the 24th.

Sequel, DLC confirmed. lulz haters.

No, UK retail sales are likely still bad. 38th isn't very good even when compared against games from the same time period. However, it looks like the overall sales may be getting bailed out from other places (US sales, on line sales, other countries, etc.)

Or they could just go with "no comment" as well. There are lots of ways to weasel out of the question if they don't want to answer it.

SuperNiceDog was not so nice to my bracket.
Congrats to SuperNiceDog for winning the Rivalry Rumble Guru Contest!

Sony also said they were on target with Vita sales. Lol. This is all PR. And lastly, we won't know how this title has really performed until a few years. Ranking 38th in the UK chart isn't a good start though.

They said that about Vita sales too.

lmao

For Vita they said it"Selling mostly within expectations even though some areas are off pace" which is not even close to being "Right on target".

Ok...listen.

Playstation all-star had ONE day to get these numbers.

All the others, especially the top one, have been out more than one day.

First of all, it's two days. Second of all, it got outsold by games that came out 6 months ago. It was outsold by Mario Kart 7 wihch came out 1 year ago. The game had a horrible debut. Deal with it. I'm having aa blast with the game, but the fact that it debuted 38th in the UK chart is huugely disappointing.
