dante gun ?

Just got the game and i want to main dante (he look pretty nice) but his gun look useless. Am i missing something about them?

Go through his tutorial in Solo Play to learn his good and bad moves.

-His square moves can cancel into his triangle moves If you hit your opponent. If it whiffs or they block it, you can't cancel them.
-His triangle moves can cancel into his circle moves
-His air dash can cancel into any other circle/square moves

Keep that in mind. The point of guns is either for mobility with canceling into air dash or to make longer combos off his square chain into whatever.

The guns can tack on extra ap in combos, they also slow down your opponent and most importantly,...they will be your main attack button during his level 3 super.

do combo trial with dante and youll understand everything

yea his guns are pretty useless i dont even use them no stun just good for getting a few AP points to close the distance but why do that when you can dash in and start a combo

As a standard attack the guns suck, but they have two uses.

1.His cancel combos. For instance, after completing his square combo press triangle or forward+triangle and you can cancel that into a circle attack.
2.While his level 3 is active you can use the guns as a fairly long ranged attack for better chance of hitting opponents you otherwise wouldn't be able to.

No ones pointed this out yet? Geez, ok. Guns are useful firstly for movement, especially UT and j.FT, which helps keep Dante moving and tricky to lock down.

Secondly, Guns do NOT contribute to IAS in a combo at all, so the more places you find to add guns shots into a combo, the more free "unscaled" AP your combo will give., making 160+ AP combos nothing for Dante, and gives him the highest practical (keyword practical) AP combos in the game.

haven't been playing against player but, bots don't care much about those kind of movement so far lol
