Raiden can get 155 AP off a throw

#1TerotrousPosted 12/1/2012 6:52:42 PM(edited)
>throw, ^[], (jump up backwards, turn around) ^/\, (land, turn around, jump) >[], (land) ^[], (double jump), [], [], [], /\ - 155 AP

The key to making this land is that the ^/\ has to hit very low to the ground and as far away from the enemy as possible. And you can only do three []s before the final /\ or you'll hit the IPS early and get 130AP.

From the Raiden section of my upcoming guide for this game. You're welcome Raiden mainers.

Honestly, this is easier and can be done off a throw too:

Throw, >[], /\, [], vO, ^[], j.[] x5

Does 155 AP too,

EDIT: Oops, confused [] for O.

Oh, it didn't occur to me that would land, lol. Though the trick involving air ^/\ into air >[] is useful in comboing after some of his other moves.

It seems he hits the damage cap if he touches you with absolutely anything.

Try Square Square Square Square Square Square Square Square Square Square Square Square Up Square Square Square Square Square.

Seems to work pretty well in FFA.

It seems this can be refined into:

>[], ^[], (jump up backwards, turn around) ^/\, (turn around) ^[], (double jump), [], [], [], /\ - 155 AP

This is superior to the standard Raiden BnB in a couple ways: For one thing, it spends less time on the ground, so it's less vulnerable to being blown up in FFA. For another, it can combo off the back slash, which the /\ can't. And it also doesn't feature any tight links that might cause it to drop.

standard raiden= Forward [] , [], [], [], []

Nah, standard raiden is:

>[], /\, [], v(), ^[], (jump) [], [], [], [], []

Anyone not doing this is a dope because it's so easy.

I didn't think the turning backwards to front actually mattered. My only question is why ?

By the way, this also works:

>[], /\, [], v(), ^[], (jump up backwards, turn around) ^/\, R (Lvl 2)

Builds 95 AP and combos into level 2.

Why do you have to jump up back? Because you need the ^/\ to hit from as far away and as low to the ground as possible to link the ^[] afterwards. You have to turn back around after jumping up back so your move will actually hit.

Or if you mean "what is the backslash", that's Raiden's unique move where he <[], []. It stuns, but the recovery is too slow for >[] or /\ to hit afterwards. This combo does work, though.
