Do really think Dart should be in over Cloud just because he's 1st party?

Uhhh, no. I'm pretty sure someone would've done it. Every other genre made a leap to 3D, I know for a fact RPGs would have. FF7 isn't that deserving, just often boring. Dart doesn't owe his existence to Cloud. I bet there were also other 3D RPGs before it, they just weren't good so you never heard of them.

Besides it's not like 1st party was ever truly a factor in this game. We'll probably get Dart because Cloud would be too difficult/expensive to license.

That still doesn't mean that LoD wouldn't have been made if FF7 didn't exist, that's just really stupid.

Doesn't matter. I'm sure more than enough people bought Legend of Dragoon because it was good, not because it looked like FF. FF doesn't deserve that much credit, accept it.
